Tree Surveys are specialised surveys that assess the size, age, health, root protection areas and life expectancy of a tree. To be assessed, the tree must have a diameter of over 75mm at a measurement of 1.5m from the ground. A tree survey will provide recommendations on whether any remedial work will be required to the tree and state whether the tree should be retained on the site. All our surveys are carried out by a highly experienced and qualified surveyor to the British Standard 5837-2012. This will ensure that the survey is carried out to the highest standard and complies with relevant regulations.
A tree survey will be required as part of a planning application for the majority of developments. This may be a simple extension or the building of one or multiple properties on the site. This is particularly the case if the development will affect the surrounding landscape and trees situated within that landscape. Additionally, tree surveys can be carried out for insurance purposes for both commercial and domestic clients please see Trees Surveys for Mortgages and Insurance Purposes – ProHort
We appreciate that delays in planning can cause significant cost and stress. As such we are very commercially minded and we will work with you to ensure we do all we can to make sure that no trees on the site interfere with your plans. This often involves discussions over the phone and on-site. Due to our decades of experience we know what the planners are looking for and therefore all surveys and paperwork are to the required standard to ensure there are no delays in your planning application.
Occasionally, when a tree survey is completed, the tree surveyed is identified as having a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) applied. These can be applied to trees when they are located in a specific area. Alternatively, they are applied when a tree has significant amenity value, is rare or a particularly good specimen. Trees with a TPO applied to them require additional documentation and searches due to the stipulations set in place. Visit our page on Tree Preservation Orders for more information.
Please see below for a breakdown of what you will receive upon completion of the tree survey.
