What is soil testing and soil analysis?

Soil Testing Reports and Soil Analysis Reports in Coventry

Soil testing and soil analysis can identify chemicals or contaminants that are present which may affect development plans and which could bring your project to a halt.  It can also determine the nutrients, acidity, composition, and pH level of soil on a site.

If you require soil testing reports and soil analysis reports in Coventry for a development project, ProHort Ltd can provide a number of different levels of analysis. These range from a basic pH and nutrient test to a heavy metal composition analysis, which identifies a wide range of nutrients as well as any nutrient deficiencies or potential toxins within the soil. ProHort provides the following differing levels of test:

The Core Package: We will provide you with a soil sampling kit which you can use to take the soil sample and send back to Pus. This sample will then be tested and you will be provided with a breakdown of the chemical composition of the soil. This breakdown will be provided in line with the ISO9001 and ISO17025 standards.

The Analytical Package: If you require more than a chemical breakdown of the soil, then the analytical package is suitable for you. This package allows you to take your own soil sample and send it back to ProHort. We then test the soil and analyse the results compared to accepted levels or Waste Acceptance Criteria. Any recommendations for required remediation will also be offered within the resulting report.

The Comprehensive Package: Our consultants will visit your site in Coventry to take the soil samples, if you proceed with the comprehensive package. Whilst on site, the consultants will complete a visual assessment of the area to assess whether there any signs of alternative factors that contribute to the soil conditions. The soil test and analysis shall be conducted, providing you with an analysis of the results compared to accepted levels and our consultants recommendations to mitigate any issues, including any issues resulting from alternative factors on site.

It is also important to obtain a soil analysis when planting on a site if the site has previously been used for industrial purposes in Coventry. By combining a planting plan with a soil analysis, the composition of the soil can be reflected in the planting scheme to ensure that any plants on the site flourish.
