Soil Analysis and Testing in Birmingham

What is soil testing and analysis?

ProHort Ltd carries out soil analysis and soil testing in Birmingham.

Soil Analysis Reports and Soil Testing in Birmingham

Securing soil testing and soil analysis when planting on a site that has previously been used for industrial purposes is vital. By combining soil testing and soil analysis reports with a planting plan, the composition of the soil can be reflected in the planting scheme to establish a thriving horticultural area of plants.

Soil testing and soil analysis can identify any contaminants or other chemicals present that may affect development plans and bring your project to a halt and can determine the acidity, composition, nutrients and PH level of soil on the site in the Birmingham area.

If soil testing and soil analysis for a development within the Birmingham area is required, ProHort Ltd can provide different levels of analysis – from a basic PH and nutrients test to a heavy metal composition analysis, which identifies a spectrum of nutrients as well as any nutrient deficiencies or potential toxins within the soil.

ProHort provides three differing levels of test, including:

The Core Package: ProHort will provide you with a kit that allows you to take the soil sample yourself and send the sample back to ProHort. The sample will then be tested and you will be provided with a breakdown of the soil’s chemical composition, which will be provided in line with the ISO9001 and ISO17025 standards.

The Analytical Package: If more than just a chemical breakdown of the soil is needed, the analytical package allows you to take your own soil sample and send it back to us. We will then test the soil and analyse the results in comparison to accepted levels or Waste Acceptance Criteria. Recommendations on any required remediation will also be offered in the report.

The Comprehensive Package: The comprehensive package allocates for our consultants visiting your site in Birmingham to take the samples. The consultants will carry out a visual assessment whilst on site to assess whether there any signs of any alternative factors that could be contributing to the soil conditions. The soil test and analysis shall be carried out, providing you with an analysis of the results in comparison to accepted levels and our consultants recommendations to mitigate any issues, including any issues resulting from alternative factors on site.

From your first contact with us, our consultants will work closely with you to determine the required type of test, and depth of analysis, that must be carried out for the site.
